How to access previous files/folders versions

DCP versioning feature is used to keep the previous versions of the same file. However, the older versions will automatically deleted to ensure that you are not running out of space.

This pattern is used to delete the old versions:

  • For the first second we keep one version
  • For the first 10 seconds DCP keeps one version every 2 seconds
  • For the first minute DCP keeps one version every 10 seconds
  • For the first hour DCP keeps one version every minute
  • For the first 24 hours DCP keeps one version every hour
  • For the first 30 days DCP keeps one version every day
  • After the first 30 days DCP keeps one version every week

The versions are adjusted along this pattern every time a new version gets created.

The version app never uses more that 50% of the user’s currently available free space. If the stored versions exceed this limit, DCP deletes the oldest versions until it meets the disk space limit again.

You may access the old versions of your file by following through the below steps:

1. Login to your DCP account and go to [Files].

2. Search for the file and click on the icon. Select [Details] from the options.

3. Then, click on the Versions tab.

4. The older versions of this file will be listed here. You may click on to restore the file.
